IATA Aviation Fuel Management Essentials aviation training course

Jet fuel is one of the largest costs in airline expenditure, therefore an important component in the management of an airline. In this course you will learn about the technical aspects of jet fuel so that you can monitor the quality and specifications of the fuel, examine the pricing formulae and pricing structure to enable airlines to choose the right supplier in a particular location, and fuel suppliers to better understand the priorities of the airlines. During this course you will follow the supply chain from the refinery to delivery into the aircraft, learn how to minimize fuel uplift, and understand the processes in place to ensure safety in the delivery of fuel by the fuel suppliers. You will learn how the tendering process works, how to develop best practices in the management of jet fuels, and explore factors affecting supply reliability, and safety.

Prerequisites

  • Recommended level is Intermediate and Advanced.
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 for courses in English or the equivalent level for other languages.

Certificate awarded

An IATA Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 70% or higher on all exercises and exams. A special distinction is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 90% or higher.
