Accessing the Amsterdam Training Center
Flying to Amsterdam
Transportation from the Airport
Train: Travel from Schiphol Airport to Hoofddorp by train. The Schiphol train station is located directly below the airport terminal. The IATA Training Center is next to Hoofddorp station. Public transport can be accessed using a debit card, an OV-Chipkaart, or tickets purchased at the station.
Car: Navigate to IATA Netherlands BV, Mercuriusplein 17, 2132 HA Hoofddorp. Please note that IATA Training does not provide parking. The nearest parking facility is Parking P+R Hoofddorp (day tickets available from €4.50), located at Scorpius 131, 2132 LR Hoofddorp.
Taxi: Taxis are readily available outside Schiphol Plaza.
Airport Shuttle: Follow the signs to Hotel Shuttles – Stop A9 at Schiphol Airport. Complimentary shuttle services are available to selected Amsterdam and Hoofddorp hotels. Please check with your hotel for availability and schedules.

About the Amsterdam Training Center
Reception & Security
Reception & Access
- The Pharos office building opens at 08:00. Please arrive by 08:30.
- Upon arrival, collect your IATA Training participant badge from Reception and proceed to the training rooms.
- Please wear your badge at all times and return it at the end of your stay.
- The IATA Training Center is located within a shared office building.
- Reception is open Monday–Friday, 08:30–18:00.
Photo ID Requirement
- A valid photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's license) is required to receive your participant badge for the duration of your training.
Before your course
- Please bring your laptop to access course materials.
- Remember to pack any necessary power cables and adapters for Dutch electrical outlets, as these cannot be provided.
- Complimentary Wi‑Fi is available throughout the Training Center; the password is displayed in the training room.
- Please ensure your laptop is properly configured for Wi‑Fi access, as technical support for personal devices is not available.
Dress Code & Luggage
Dress Code
- Business casual attire is recommended.
- As the training rooms are air-conditioned, we suggest bringing a jacket or sweater for your comfort.
Personal Belongings
- Please keep your personal belongings with you at all times.
- IATA cannot be held responsible for any lost or unattended items.
Luggage Storage
- Luggage may be stored in the coat check area within the training room.
- Please note that this is an unattended open area, and items are left at your own risk.
Breaks & Lunch
Breaks & Lunch
- Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available throughout the course.
- Coffee and tea are served:
- 08:00–10:00 next to Reception
- 10:00–15:00 in The Farm Kitchen restaurant
- 14:30–15:00 near the training room
- Water is available in the training room at all times.
- Lunch is at your own expense and is available at The Farm Kitchen (12:00–14:00). Please note that payment is accepted by debit card or Visa credit card only.
- Additional lunch options are available across the street and near the Pharos Building.
- If you have any special dietary requirements, please inform us in advance.
Smoking
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Pharos Building.
- Designated smoking areas are available outside the building.
Travel Assistance
- If you need to confirm or modify your travel arrangements, our Training Team can provide airline contact details.
- Please contact the airline directly for any changes or assistance.
Fire Alarm
Fire alarm (IATA building)
In case of an emergency, please respect the basic rules of evacuation (stay calm; do not use the elevators, etc.) Follow the instructions of the Training Center Support staff. If you hear an alarm:
- Leave the building immediately through the nearest available exit.
- Take only personal belongings with you.
- Do not use the elevators.
- Follow the instructions of the evacuation team.
- Follow the evacuation team to one of the assembly points outside of the building.

Visa & Payment
Visas and Entry Information
Visit the Department for Foreign affairs website for full details. We recommend that you allow a minimum of 4 weeks to process your visa application. IATA cannot intervene in the application process or guarantee such documentation.
Should the Dutch Embassy require an invitation letter from IATA, please contact the training coordinator assigned to your course. Any such letter can only be released by IATA after course fees have been paid in full.

Payment online is easy and can be accessed on www.iata.org/cc-payment. You will need your invoice number and a valid credit card.

- Hotel booking/confirmation
You are responsible for making your reservation directly with the hotel of your choice. It is highly recommended that you make a changeable hotel reservation at least 3 weeks prior to the course start date.
To make a reservation, complete the registration form provided in your registration confirmation and email (or fax) it directly to the hotel. The hotel will then confirm the booking to you by fax or e-mail.
Payment for the room, tax and incidentals is the responsibility of the participant. Please note that IATA cannot accept any responsibility for your liability to the hotel. - Recommended hotels

Shops
The inner city of Hoofddorp is 1.6 km walking distance from the IATA Training Center, with a variety of shops, which are open Monday 12.00 to 18.00 and Friday 10.00 – 21.00, all other days from 10.00 to18.00. Some shops are open on Sunday 12.00 – 17.00. There is additional shopping at Schiphol or Amsterdam Center.
