Accessing the Frankfurt Training Center
Flying to Frankfurt
Frankfurt Fraport Airport is serviced by many airlines that have direct flights within Europe. It has 2 Terminals which are connected via a free shuttle service. You can find further information on the websites below:
Transportation from the Airport
The easiest and quickest way to get to the IATA Training Center is by train (S-train). You will find the S-train in Terminal 1 (T1). Just follow the signs to the underground railway station. Take the ‘S8’ or ‘S9’ S-trains in the direction of Hanau Hauptbahnhof. ‘Gateway Gardens’ (your destination) is the first stop. Trains run every 15 minutes. Tickets can be bought at vending machines located on the platform.

The IATA Frankfurt Training Center is hosted by the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) GmbH at the “Gateway Gardens” S-Bahn stop.

Getting Around in Frankfurt
The best option is to use the efficient public transport network, mainly the S-trains, which run underground. For more information. Visit the RMV Ticket Shop website to plan your journey and purchase your tickets online.
- Rail and bus - HOLM can be reached from Frankfurt, Hanau, Mainz, Offenbach and Wiesbaden using the S8 and S9 lines. The following bus lines stop within walking distance of the Training Center:
- Buses X17, 77: stop “Thea-Rasche-Straße”
- Buses X19, 61/62: stop “Kreisel Unterschweinstiege”
- Bike - HOLM is also easily accessible by bike. Covered bicycle parking spaces are available in the underground car park. They are located on the first level at the entrance and exit to the garage.
- Car - HOLM is connected to the A3/A5 motorway junction. Paid visitor parking spaces are available in the HOLM underground car park. There are also charging options for electric cars.
Accessibility: There are three disabled parking spaces (on level 2) available in the HOLM underground car park. From there, the building is barrier-free and accessible via an elevator.
About the Frankfurt Training Center
Reception & Security
Reception
Upon your arrival, you will be given an IATA Training participant badge by the IATA Receptionist, who will direct you to the IATA training rooms. Please keep this badge with you all the time and kindly return it at the end of your stay. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 17:00 and Friday from 09:00 to 15:00.
Security clearance at the Training Center
Please note that you will be required to provide photo identification (i.e., Driver’s License, National ID Card or
Passport) in exchange for an IATA Training participant badge for the duration of your training.
Business center
- Please bring your laptop to your course to access your course material, and don’t forget to pack your laptop cables and adaptors to connect to the German plugs as we are unable to provide them.
- Complementary wireless internet access is available in the Training Center. Please ensure that your laptop is properly configured for Wi-Fi access, as the IATA IT staff cannot provide support on external laptops.
Dress Code & Luggage
Dress Code
- Business casual attire is recommended.
- As the training rooms are air-conditioned, we suggest bringing a jacket or sweater for your comfort.
Personal Belongings
- Please keep your personal belongings with you at all times.
- As the premises are shared with other guests, IATA cannot be held responsible for any lost or unattended items.
Luggage Storage
- Luggage may be stored outside the IATA training rooms.
- Please note that this is an unattended open area, and items left there are at your own risk.
- Alternatively, luggage lockers are available at the main railway station

Visa & Payment
Visas and Entry Information
Visit the Department of Foreign affairs website for full details. We recommend that you allow a minimum of 4 weeks to process your visa application. IATA cannot intervene in the application process or guarantee such documentation.
Should the German Embassy require an invitation letter from IATA, please contact the training coordinator assigned to your course. Any such letter can only be released by IATA after course fees have been paid in full.

- Hotel booking/confirmation
You are responsible for making your reservation directly with the hotel. It is highly recommended that you make your hotel reservation at least 3 weeks prior to the course start date.
To make a reservation, complete the registration form provided in your registration confirmation and email (or fax) it directly to the hotel. The hotel will then confirm the booking to you by fax or e-mail.
Payment for the room, tax and incidentals is the responsibility of the participant. Please note that IATA cannot accept any responsibility for your liability to the hotel.

Free brochures and tourist information can be obtained at the Tourist Information Counter, located in the arrival area of the airport after the customs control.
- Tourist Attractions
Frankfurt's Old Town offers a living glimpse of the past while Frankfurt's many museums and art galleries capture the rich and vibrant history of the city.
Many of Frankfurt’s most important museums are located just 15 minutes away at the waterfront of the river Main, the so-called Museumsufer at the Schaumainkai. Among them is the famous Staedel Museum.
