The Maintenance Cost Data eXchange (MCX) is part of IATA’s Global Aviation Data Management (GADM) portfolio. It is a data-sharing program that enables airlines to benchmark and analyze aircraft maintenance costs using standardized definitions and method.

MCX empowers airlines with a trusted, global dataset to better understand cost drivers, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decisions across fleet and maintenance operations.

What is MCX?

MCX is a voluntary data exchange program that collects and aggregates aircraft maintenance cost data from airlines worldwide.

Through a harmonized methodology and standardized definitions, MCX allows participants to:

  • Measure and compare maintenance costs consistently
  • Understand cost structures at a detailed level
  • Share insights and best practices across the industry

The program maintains a secure, de-identified global database representing more than 50 airlines over 10 years and a significant share of worldwide fleet and MRO spend.
