Strengthening aviation data through industry participation
The IATA Data Sharing Incentive Program encourages member airlines to participate in key IATA data programs that support a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable air transport industry. By contributing data, the overall dataset becomes richer, more complete, and more valuable for all participating airlines. The more programs your airline contributes to, the greater the cost savings across your data subscriptions.
Why participation matters
High-quality industry data depends on the breadth and consistency of airline contributions. The more airlines participate, and the more data is shared across programs, the more accurate, representative, and actionable the insights become. This enables better benchmarking, stronger forecasting, and more informed decision-making across the industry. At the same time, IATA ensures that all data is handled with strict governance, confidentiality, and security standards. Protecting airline data and maintaining trust is at the core of every data program.
How it works
The program is based on participation in a set of IATA data sharing initiatives. As airlines contribute to more programs, they unlock greater savings across their data subscriptions and benefit from a more complete industry dataset.
To participate in the program, contribution to the following 2 core programs is required:
In addition, airlines are encouraged to participate in the following programs:
- Direct Data Solution (DDS)
- Cargo Direct Data (CDD)
- Flight Data Exchange (FDX)
- Maintenance Cost Data Exchange (MCX)
- Turbulence Aware
- MRO Smart Hub
- CO2 Connect
- IATA PaxInsight
- Airline Cost Benchmark Solution - new in 2026
- Flight Ops Data Exchange (FOX) - new in 2026
A shared industry approach
This program is built on a simple principle: the more airlines contribute, the stronger the industry dataset becomes. By working together, airlines help create a more transparent, reliable, and valuable data ecosystem that benefits the entire aviation community.
