This course is recommended for 'Personnel Responsible for Processing Dangerous Goods Consignments' as per IATA's DGR - section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.3 in IATA's 'Dangerous Goods Training Guidance'. | Previously covered under category 3.

Safety is paramount in the aviation industry: Ensure that you know how to read and apply the regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by air that are commensurate to your job function and tasks. These regulations include legal requirements, operational restrictions, packaging instructions, marking, labeling and documentation to ensure the safe transportation of these goods. Gain the competencies to process shipments containing dangerous goods according to the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) manual and in accordance with the Competency-Based Training and Assessment approach (CBTA).

Prerequisites

  • Recommended level is Entry-level and Intermediate.
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 or the equivalent for courses held in languages other than English.

Who should attend

This course is recommended for:

  • Personnel working for cargo agents, consolidators and freight forwarder who are responsible for processing dangerous goods consignments from shippers to airlines
  • IATA Cargo agent applicants willing to fulfill the training requirements for DGR

Certificate awarded

An IATA Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 80% or higher on an assessment. A special distinction is awarded to participants obtaining a grade of 90% or higher.

Please note: This certificate is valid for 24 months.
