The IATA Aviation Energy Forum (AEF) is a merger of the Fuel Forum and the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Symposium. 

AEF is the premier industry meeting for the world's aviation fuel community, and a unique platform allowing airline representatives, fuel and SAF suppliers, and other IATA Strategic Partners to discuss the industry's priorities and agree on actions to enhance efficiency and productivity, and better understand what the airline commitment to deliver on the net zero 2050 pledge will mean.

We will provide you with the visa invitation letter once your registration has been validated.

Before your travel

IATA is providing a visa invitation letter but cannot guarantee your visa issuance. In case you need it, answer “Yes" to the visa letter question during your registration: you will have to enter all the requested details for the letter to be generated. Note that it is mandatory to be fully registered to the Aviation energy Forum (AEF) to get it. Please ensure you check your visa requirements as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your visa application.

Arrival to Mexico City

Getting from the airport to the venue

 

  • Official taxis are available at booths located at the exit from Customs, offering a secure and regulated way to travel from the airport to your destination in Mexico City. After clearing with Customs, go to the booths, select one of your preference (all of them are officially registered with the authorities), indicate your destination in the city, pay the fee, and proceed to the taxi cab.
  • Uber is available in Mexico City and can be requested to pick you up from the airport for a smooth arrival.

  • Uber is available in Mexico City, making it easy to get around with comfort and convenience. 
  • Taxis can be easily arranged through your hotel, offering a smooth and hassle-free way to get around Mexico City.

Currency

 

  • The official currency of Mexico is the Peso. 
  • Carry only the money you need for a day’s expenses and a credit card, ATMs are available to withdraw money if necessary.
  • In Mexico City usually it is left a tip of about 10% or 15% if there was an exceptional service, not tipping is often considered rude. Tips are frequently given in restaurants, bars, cafes, to street vendors selling prepared foods (some restaurants already add it in the check); in addition, it is normal to leave service tips for waiters, valets, gas station attendants, bellboys and similar service providers.

Weather


The minimum average temperature in Mexico City in November is between 8 and 10 ° (46–50 °F) and the maximum is between 24 and 27 °C (75–81 °F) . Mornings are colder and in the afternoon the temperatures are mild to warm; there might also be some occasional rain.

Power plug


Voltage in Mexico is 110V at 60Hz and plugs are Type B, with flat pins. Adapters are not widely available outside of some large airports, hence, think about bringing your own.

App CDMX: This is an app developed by the ADIP (Digital Agency for Public Innovation), among the different features that it has, you can check the weather, the events that take place in the city or an Emergency assistance button (Boton de auxilio).

 

Smoking regulations 

 

  • Mexico has strict regulations regarding smoking. It is prohibited to consume or have any tobacco, nicotine, or vaping product lit in collective gathering spaces such as balconies, parcs, hotels, stadiums, transport or food consumption or service establishments among others.
  • At all entrances to areas that are 100% smoke-free—including tobacco smoke, emissions, and vaping—it will be mandatory to place signs indicating that smoking, consuming, or having any tobacco, nicotine, or vaping product lit is prohibited.

Health and Safety 

 

  • Due to Mexico City's high altitude of approximately 2,240 meters or 7,350 feet above sea level, altitude sickness symptoms might be experienced- take it easy, stay hydrated, and seek medical attention if you feel unwell. 
  • It's important to avoid intense physical activity until your body has had time to acclimate to the high altitude - take it slow and stay hydrated.  
  • Drinking tap water is strictly prohibited - please use bottled water only. 

While at the event

  • Dress code: The dress code for the event is business casual. 
  • Wi-Fi: There is Wi-Fi available in the venue. 
  • Event app: The app of the event will be available 6 weeks before the start of the event, displaying the floor plan and the registration on-site opening hours.
