On 23 June, Samuel Guillard Bond from the Compliance Requirements Team, Karin Ulmer from the Timatic Editing Team, and our Brussels-based colleague David Grivet met with representatives from the Schengen and External Borders Unit of the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs at the European Commission.
The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to exchange insights on the evolving landscape of entry regulations to the European Union and to reinforce the mutual benefits of ongoing collaboration. Discussions focused on the Commission’s support for Timatic and the crucial role of transparent, timely communication when it comes to regulatory changes affecting travel.
We shared recent developments in the Timatic platform that further enhance its reliability and usability. By showcasing how Timatic is used in real time by airlines, immigration authorities, and other key stakeholders, we were able to demonstrate its tangible impact on the smooth and secure movement of travelers worldwide.
We have enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the European Commission, and this collaboration remains essential. Working closely together ensures that accurate, up-to-date information is consistently available to the travel industry. This not only facilitates compliance but also contributes to a safer and more efficient travel experience for all passengers entering the EU.
This exchange further strengthened our ties with the European Commission and reaffirmed our shared commitment to improving border management and passenger facilitation. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and ensuring Timatic remains a trusted, up-to-date source of travel documentation requirements worldwide.
