IATA FACE-UP!  is proud to announce the competition finalists!

Of the many ideas submitted, three solutions have been shortlisted:

  • Erik Goldenstein, Fraunhofer – ‘NE:ONE Play’
  • Arjan Bhogal, Buckinghamshire New University – ‘ Reducing the air cargo industry’s single-use plastics problem’
  • Niclas Scheiber, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences – ‘Unleashing the semantic potential of ONE Record’

Submissions were highly innovative and the independent jury members were very impressed by the quality of all the ideas. The participants represented a variety of backgrounds from different parts of the world.

The three finalists are invited to present their solution at the next IATA World Cargo Symposium in Hong Kong. Delegates will then vote for their preferred submission during the Closing Plenary on the 14 March 2024.

Since the launch of the competition in September 2023, IATA received many entries from students and researchers from all around the world.  The entries have been evaluated by an independent jury comprising industry experts and executives of leading logistics companies. They have based their assessment upon the innovative, transforming, and visionary nature of the content, as well as the quality of the solution presented in the thesis.

IATA would like to thank the six members of the 2024 Jury for their hard work and detailed and honest feedback. It was not an easy task, but they demonstrated their commitment and passion for the air cargo industry and innovation.
