Partnering for Mutual Benefit
The IATA Sourcing Team is responsible for developing and maintaining bilateral relations with government agencies worldwide to ensure the advice provided by ACIC (Airport and Air Traffic Control Charges), TACT (Cargo) and Timatic (Passenger) to their users is accurate.
These three solutions managed by IATA exist to provide airlines, ground handlers, cargo agents, travel agents and other industry partners with the information they need. It is unrealistic to expect these stakeholders to check thousands of official websites when they need to board their passengers or load their cargo. Therefore, informing IATA of any changes or new information proactively will ensure that these stakeholders comply with requirements.
What are the key benefits of collaboration?
Closer partnership with government agencies and airport authorities helps ensure Air Traffic Control Charges, as well as Airport Charges are kept up-to-date, cargo shipments comply with regulatory requirements and passengers always travel with correct documents. Strengthening partnerships also benefits air transport compliance process stakeholders (i.e. customs, immigration, health authorities, airports, airlines, freight forwarders and passengers.)
The IATA Sourcing Network:
- Reinforces airports' immigration and customs control
- Protects countries from global threats and making it safer and more secure
- Disseminates new entry requirements, cargo regulations and Airport Charges to the entire air transport industry in present time and at no cost
- Promotes airports and countries to boost economic and cultural benefits
ACIC is used by airlines to find Airport Charges and invoices for some 900 airports and Air Traffic Control Charges globally. This enables them to optimize their strategic positioning by understanding trends to open new markets and opportunities.
ACIC helps airlines with their flight operations and route network planning. It also helps airports and aviation authorities in their business deployment as a tool for them to better understand trends that enable them to open up new markets and opportunities.
