What do I need to apply for the ID Card?
There are a number of required documents that vary based on your location:
- Proof of employment (except for US-based agents).
- Digital photo:
- Taken in the last 12 months.
- Plain white or off-white background.
- Full-face view, no profiles.
- No hats or sunglasses.
- At least 300 x 400 pixels.
How much does an ID Card cost?

- Ranges from USD 30 to USD 70, depending on agency class.
- Additional courier fees may apply.
How do I pay for the ID Card?
We only accept the following payment methods:
- Visa.
- Mastercard.
- American Express.
When will I receive my ID Card?
This will vary by region and vary based on the physical or digital card. Please be aware a physical card is not available outside the US or Canada.
- Physical/Printed ID Card:
- Not available outside Canada and the US.
- Delivery: 3 to 6 weeks for US and Canadian agents.
- Notify IATA if not received within 3 months after paying for the ID Card.
- Digital ID Card:
- US agents: Available 24-48 business hours after payment.
- Non-US agents: Available immediately after application approval.
- Access via the ID Card Benefits website or app.
Can the ID Card be sent to another address?
- No, the physical card can only be sent to the registered agency address.
- Home-based agents should coordinate with their manager for forwarding.

How long is the ID Card valid for?
Your card is valid for 12 months.
How do I renew my card?
- You can renew up to three months before expiry.
- Reminders to renew will be sent two months before expiry.
- US Based: Use IATAN Online Services to renew.
- Non-US Based: Use the IATA ID Card Online Platform to renew.
How can I make updates to my card?
Yes, details can be updated after you have received your card.
- Update email address: Via renewal or IATA Customer Portal.
- Update agency information: Via IATA Customer Portal before starting a new application.
Approvals when you are an owner/manager?
In this case, you can use your own name as the “approving manager”.
Can I get my card reprinted?
- Lost card?: Request and pay for a reprint online; digital card available for free.
- Name change?: Yes, however different requirements per region
- US based: Contact agency's owner/manager.
- Non-US based: Request reprint via ID Card Customer Portal.
