IATA International Air Law Diploma aviation training

The International Air Law Diploma offers a wide range of courses that go from international law, airline contracts, insurance, and aircraft acquisition to data protection and EU law that ensure you are better equipped for your role within the aviation industry. Each course has a unique combination of theory, group discussions, case-studies and role play activities that allow you to better grasp the concepts being taught and learn how to apply them in real life situations. By attending 4 courses of your choice from the diploma you will strengthen your understanding of the context and requirements of international air law, air service agreements, open skies agreements and traffic rights. At the end you will have gained insight into the legal and institutional framework of international air law regimes by studying the role and function of principal organizations involved in regulating the industry. You will learn how air law developments and legal issues directly impact the aviation industry, and explore potential solutions to common air law issues, airline contracts and privacy aspects.

Upon completion of this diploma you will be able to:
  • Analyze and understand the Freedoms of the Air
  • Identify critical negotiation points for aircraft and equipment purchase agreements
  • Identify the characteristics of the Common Law Legal System and the Civil Law Legal system
  • Review, analyse and understand the concepts of the most common airline related agreements
  • Evaluate the data protection principles
