The IATA Special Cargo Handling Diploma is an in-depth training program designed to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to manage the transport of sensitive and high-value commodities such as , live animals, perishables, human remains and pharmaceuticals. This diploma, which consists of four courses over three years, provides a comprehensive understanding of the complex regulatory requirements, best practices, and technical expertise necessary to handle these special cargo shipments safely and efficiently. Throughout the program, and with a strong emphasis on compliance with international regulations, you will explore the unique needs of various types of special cargo and gain a thorough understanding of how to handle them. You will learn how to manage time- and temperature-sensitive shipments to ensure they reach their destination in optimal condition, diving into the latest trends in perishable cargo transportation. You?ll also gain practical insights into live animal shipping, including the use of the IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR), and learn how Human Remains must be shipped. The program also covers the transportation of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products, providing critical knowledge on the packaging, storage, and handling of time- and temperature-sensitive shipments in line with Quality Management Systems (QMS) applicable to both the healthcare and air cargo sectors.
