The following pages set out some important logistical and practical information about our Madrid Training Center to help you get the most out of your time with us. Accessing the Madrid Training Center

Madrid-Barajas Airport has four terminals. A free shuttle bus connects Terminal 4 (T4) with the other terminals in approximately 10 minutes. For more information, please visit the Madrid-Barajas Airport website.

The easiest ways to get from Madrid-Barajas Airport to IATA offices is by taxi or by underground (i.e., metro).

  • Taxi ranks are situated in front of the Arrivals areas of all terminals. The approximately journey time to the IATA office is 20-30 minutes. The fixed rate price from the airport to IATA offices is €30.
  • Underground (metro). The metro connects the airport with Madrid's city center. Underground stations at the airport are in Terminals 2 and 4. The Barajas Line, Pink Line L8, connects the airport with “Nuevos Ministerios Station”. On arrival at Nuevos Ministerios station change to the Dark Blue Line, L10 to Santiago Bernabeu station (only one stop). The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes and it is necessary to pay €1 extra to enter and exit the airport stations (T1, 2, 3 and T4). The price from the airport to the IATA offices is €4.50 – €5.00. Open every day of the week from 06:00-02:00. Once you have bought one ticket, you can change as many times as you want between lines with the same ticket. To find the quickest way of reaching two points of the city by underground visit the Metro Madrid website.
  • EMT buses link the center of the city with all the districts. They operate every day of the week from 06:00- 23:45. Tickets are valid for one journey only and to change routes you should purchase another ticket.

Tickets

  • Tourist Travel Card: A personal transport card that entitles its holder to travel an unlimited number of times on the metro, EMT (bus) or Renfe (suburban railway) in zone A. The price is €8.40 per day.
  • Single ticket: Valid for only one journey. It can be purchased from the metro ticket offices and automatic machines or from EMT bus drivers. The price is €1.50- €2.00.
  • Ten-trip or metro-bus ticket: Valid for ten journeys on the Metro, EMT and night buses. It can be purchased from ticket offices or automatic machines in the Metro or press kiosks. The price is €11.20 – €12.20.

The Madrid Training Center is located in the IATA office in Paseo de la Castellana, 95, Torre Europa Building, on the 4th & 5th floor, in front of the Stadium Santiago Bernabeu.

About the Madrid Training Center

Reception

Welcome! Upon arrival, please collect your participant badge at Reception and head to the 4th floor for your training. We kindly ask that you wear your badge throughout your stay and return it when you leave. Reception is open Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00.

Security clearance at the Training Center

Please note: A valid photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driver’s license) is required to collect your IATA Training participant badge for the duration of your training.

Business center

Before your course: Please bring your laptop to access course materials, along with any required power cables and adapters for Spanish electrical outlets. Complimentary Wi‑Fi is available at the Training Center—just ask Reception for access details. Please ensure your laptop is Wi‑Fi enabled, as technical support for personal devices is not available.

Dress Code

  • Business casual attire is recommended.
  • As the training rooms are air-conditioned, we suggest bringing a jacket or sweater for your comfort.

Personal Belongings

  • Please keep your personal belongings with you at all times.
  • IATA cannot be held responsible for any lost or unattended items.

Luggage Storage

  • Luggage can be stored at the IATA Reception on the ground floor.

Breaks & Lunch

  • Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available throughout the course.
  • Lunch is not included and is at your own expense.

Smoking

  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the IATA office building.

Travel Assistance

  • If you need to confirm or modify your travel arrangements, our Training Team can provide airline contact details.
  • Please contact the airline directly for any changes or assistance.

Fire alarm (IATA building)

If you hear an alarm.

  • Leave the building immediately through the nearest available exit
  • Take only personal belongings with you
  • Follow the instructions of the evacuation team
  • Do not use the elevators
  • For any questions or assistance, please raise a ticket through the IATA Customer Portal. Our support team will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible.

Visa & Payment

Please consult Department for Foreign Affairs website or your country's foreign affairs or government travel website for visa requirements.
If you require an invitation letter from IATA for your visa application, please contact your course Training Coordinator. Invitation letters can only be issued once course fees have been paid in full.

Complete payment must be received prior to the beginning of the course. Please note that IATA does NOT accept CASH payments. Credit card, bank transfer and Clearing House payments are welcome.

Payment online is easy and can be accessed on www.iata.org/cc-payment. You will need your invoice number and a valid credit card.

  • Foreign Exchange Desks are in Terminal 1, 2 and 4
  • Caja Madrid bank office located in IATA office’s building (Torre Europa)

Hotels & Leisure

Hotel booking/confirmation

You are responsible for making your reservation directly with the hotel. It is highly recommended that you make your hotel reservation at least 3 weeks prior to the course start date.

To make a reservation, please see your confirmation email for further details. The hotel will then confirm the booking to you by e-mail.

Payment for the room, tax and incidentals is the responsibility of the participant. Please note that IATA cannot accept any responsibility for your liability to the hotel.
