Accessing the Montreal Training Center
Flying to Montreal
Montreal is serviced by many airlines with direct flights. L’Aéroport International Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau (www.admtl.com) is located West of the city, in Dorval.
Transportation from the Airport
The IATA Montreal Training Center does not provide ground transportation. From the airport, you may take a taxi, limousine or the Airport Bus.
- Bus - From the Trudeau Airport take bus # 747 to downtown. The travel time is approximately 20 minutes. The 747 runs between the Montreal-Trudeau Airport and the Gare d'autocars de Montréal (Berri-UQAM).
- Metro - Board the train on the Orange line in the direction of “Côte-Vertu”. Get off at the Square Victoria Metro station. Once you exit the metro, follow the signage leading to the Delta Hotel. At the Food Court on the Promenade level of Place Victoria (Tour de la Bourse), take the stairs or escalator to the lobby level. You will see an “IATA” sign next to the elevators located to the left of the security desk.
- Taxis are located at Trudeau Airport outside the arrival level. The taxi fare between the airport and the downtown area is a flat rate of CAD40.00 (tip is not included). Upon exiting the terminal on the arrivals level, a dispatcher will help you obtain a taxi (Telephone: 514-394-7377).
Training Center Location
The Montreal Training Center is in IATA’s Head Office. The building is situated between the downtown area and Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal). IATA occupies seven floors of the “Tour de la Bourse” building (Montreal Stock Exchange Tower) on Place Victoria. The IATA building is connected by the underground passage to Square Victoria Metro Station. Upon arrival, please proceed to the 11th floor – IATA Reception, where you will be directed to your Training Room.

Getting Around in Montreal
The Montreal Metro has 68 metro stations spread out along 4 metro lines (Green Line, Orange Line, Blue Line and Yellow Line). The IATA building is conveniently connected to the Orange metro line allowing you to walk underground from the Square Victoria metro station to IATA.

About the Montreal Training Center
Reception & Security
- Reception
Upon your arrival, please go to the 11th floor where you will be given an IATA Training participant badge by the Receptionist. Please keep this badge with you all the time and kindly return it at the end of your stay. Reception opening hours are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00. - Security clearance at the Training Center
Please note that you will be required to provide photo identification (i.e., Driver’s License, National ID Card or Passport) in exchange for an IATA Training participant badge for the duration of your training. - Business center
Please bring your laptop to your course to access your course material, and don’t forget to pack your laptop cables and adaptors to connect to the Canadian plugs as we are unable to provide them.
Complementary wireless internet access is available in the IATA Training Center. Please ask for a username and password at the Reception Desk. Please ensure that your laptop is properly configured for Wi-Fi access, as the IATA IT staff cannot provide support on external laptops.
The Business Center is located on the 11th floor, in front of the Tupolev Room. It is equipped with two computers and a color printer and is for the exclusive use of course participants. Please respect the time allotment of 15 minutes.
Dress Code & Luggage

- Business casual attire is recommended.
- As the training rooms are air-conditioned, we suggest bringing a jacket or sweater for your comfort.
Personal Belongings
- Please keep your personal belongings with you at all times.
- As the premises are shared with other guests, IATA cannot be held responsible for any lost or unattended items.
Luggage Storage
- If you need to store luggage or a coat, please ask Reception staff for access to the coat check area.
- While a storage area is available, all items are left at the owner's risk, and IATA cannot accept liability for lost or stolen belongings.

- Complimentary coffee, tea, and water are available in the training room each day.
- Lunch is at your own expense.
- The Bistro on the 11th floor offers lunch options.
- A food court with a variety of restaurants and cafés is also available on the Promenade level. Access it via the stairs or escalator from the IATA Building lobby.
- Please note that payments are accepted in Canadian dollars only, although some outlets also accept debit and credit cards.
Public Telephones
- Four public telephone booths are available on the 11th floor.
- Two booths allow toll-free calls (1-800 numbers), while the other two can be used for local calls.
- For long-distance calls, calling cards can be purchased from the Couche-Tard convenience store on the Promenade level.
Smoking
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the IATA Center.
- Designated smoking areas are available outside the building.
Travel Assistance
- If you need to confirm or modify your travel arrangements, our Training Team can provide airline contact details.
- Please contact the airline directly for any changes or assistance.
Fire Alarm

If you hear an alarm, follow the instructions of the Evacuation Team
- Leave the building immediately through the nearest available exit
- Take only personal belongings with you
- Do not use the elevators
- Follow the instructions of the evacuation team
- Go to the Assembly Point in the car park in front of the main entrance of the IATA Building. The Assembly Point is to your right as you leave through the main entrance of the IATA Building.

Visa & Payment
Visas and Entry Information
An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is required by visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travellers with a valid visa.
Visit the Government of Canada website for full details. We recommend that you allow a minimum of 4 weeks to process your visa application. IATA cannot intervene in the application process or guarantee such documentation.
Should the Canadian Embassy require an invitation letter from IATA, please contact the training coordinator assigned to your course. Any such letter can only be released by IATA after course fees have been paid in full.

Payment online is easy and can be accessed on www.iata.org/cc-payment. You will need your invoice number and a valid credit card.
Foreign Exchange
On arrival at the airport, you can obtain local currency at the Foreign Exchange counter on the arrivals level. In the lobby of the IATA building there is a Bank of Montreal. Other Banks nearby are:

Hotel booking/confirmation
You are responsible for making your reservation directly with the hotel of your choice. It is highly recommended that you make a changeable hotel reservation at least 3 weeks prior to the course start date.
To make a reservation, complete the registration form provided in your registration confirmation and email (or fax) it directly to the hotel. The hotel will then confirm the booking to you by fax or e-mail.
Payment for the room, tax and incidentals is the responsibility of the participant. Please note that IATA cannot accept any responsibility for your liability to the hotel.
