About the course
20-25 hour partner-taught or self-study course
IATA's Aviation Safety Fundamentals course will provide you with a basic understanding of the general principles and concepts of safety to help you develop a ‘safety conscience’. With this new knowledge, you will feel more confident about discussing the role of safety in aviation, as well as ensuring you are ready to take your first steps in a safety career. The course will cover key safety topics and through practical examples, demonstrate how these relate to roles within the aviation industry. Not only will this help you develop your safety leadership capability, but it will also enable you to engage and contribute towards a positive safety culture.

Course format
This is a partner-taught or self-study course, which will take you approximately 20-25 hours to complete, depending on your previous knowledge and experience.
The course materials are provided in e-book format.
You will have 12 months to complete the course and exam (enrollment validity), which starts from the date you purchase the course.
The recommended level for this course is Entry-level and Intermediate.
Performance will be based on an examination. Please refer to the Exam Information below for more details.
Please note: Once you have completed the exam you will no longer have access to the course material, and after the 12-month enrollment validity expires you will no longer have access to the course content, nor will you be able to take the exam.
