An electronic signature – also known as an e-signature – is a simple, easy and legal way to get consent or approval on electronic documents or forms. e-signatures are legally binding, secure, auditable, efficient and reduce the use of paper.
The Multilateral e-AWB Agreement is governed by Swiss Law (pursuant to Resolution 672, Attachment "A", Article 10) and as per Swiss Law, qualified e-signatures have same legal validity as handwritten signatures. So, IATA recommends the use of e-signature for the purpose of signing the Multilateral e-AWB Agreement, regardless of the location of the signing party.
The Multilateral e-AWB Agreement is sent for e-signature using the Adobe EchoSign service.
