IATA Route Forecasting and Development aviation training course

Learn about the main industry practices for route evaluation and forecasting to help you assess the performance of your airline’s network. Over 4 days, IATA's virtual course on Route Forecasting and Development will show you how to analyze the profitability of new routes or the impact of changes to the existing network. Given the special circumstances the industry is facing, more than ever, route planning is key to recovery efforts. It requires a complex set of skills to find the right balance between scheduling, market demand and costs. Learn methods for evaluating routes, calculating the financial performance of different routes, forecasting cost and revenue drivers, and planning for the future adjustments and optimization of your route network.

Course format

  • The live sessions of this virtual classroom course are delivered by an official IATA Instructor.
  • The course will take you approximately 24 hours to complete and be held over 4 consecutive days.
  • There will be 3 live interactive virtual classroom sessions per day, each session will be 90 minutes and additional practice sessions.
  • The live sessions will require your participation, with multiple Q&A sessions and additional time spent on self-study material including projects, research, additional reading and videos.
  • Student performance will be based on an assessment.

Prerequisites

  • Participants should have 3 years of Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Recommended level is Intermediate.
  • The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 for courses in English or the equivalent level for other languages.

Certificate awarded
