IATA Shipping Batteries by Air aviation training course

This course is recommended for 'Personnel Responsible for Preparing Dangerous Goods Consignments' (Batteries only) as per IATA's DGR - section 1.5 and in accordance with function 7.1 in IATA's 'Dangerous Goods Training Guidance', with expansion on the new entries of ‘Sodium ion’ batteries.

Acquire the skills and knowledge to pack and ship lithium ion, lithium metal and sodium ion cells and batteries by air, in compliance with the regulatory requirements of the ICAO Technical Instruction and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR). Over three days, you will examine the classification and identification of dangerous goods, with a particular focus on batteries and/or power devices, and learn how to complete the necessary documentation, marking, labelling and packaging of shipments. You will learn about the limitations to transport batteries by air, as well as emergency procedures in the event of an incident or accident. This course is based on the content of the Battery Shipping Regulations (BSR), a comprehensive guide designed for shippers and packers to meet their safety obligations related to the safe transport of dangerous goods by air.
