IATA Strategic Partnerships Program Foreword – Q1 2026

Dear Strategic Partner,

Building on over 150 meetings, forums, events and webinars that took place in 2025 with a community of some 520 Strategic Partners from 80 countries worldwide, I am very excited for what is in store in 2026.

Following the successful launch of the Strategic Partnerships Program area on “Payments”, I am delighted to announce that a new “Data and Technology Proof of Concept (PoC) – North Asia” offering is now available. Its program of work will focus exclusively on recent technologies, as well as current and future industry challenges specific to the North Asian region with like-minded technology and data experts and will be delivered in Mandarin. This is the first time that activities in an area of the Program will be conducted in another language than English.  It is available as a stand-alone area or a bundled version along with the current Data and Technology PoC area.

Additionally, I am pleased to inform you that a new IATA event will be kicked off this summer.  The IATA World Maintenance and Engineering Symposium (WMES), which is set to take place on 24-25 June in Madrid, will be a great opportunity for our Strategic Partners—notably in the “Technical Operations and MRO” and “Aircraft Recovery” areas—to benefit from discounted rates to attend the event.  If you are interested in showcasing your products and services, please complete the online form for exciting sponsorship opportunities.

The IATA team is also working hard to deliver major upcoming events, including the World Data Symposium (WDS) on 8-9 April in Singapore and the Aviation Energy Forum (AEF) on 12-14 May in Paris.  IATA is also fine tuning operations to ensure a highly successful IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit (WATS), which will take place in Rio de Janeiro on 6-8 June. This flagship event will serve to address industry challenges, with an aim to making the most of the exciting opportunities in our industry. Hear from our Strategic Partners who shared their experiences at the AGM and explore sponsorship opportunities.

Please have a look at our upcoming calendar of meetings, forums, webinars and events open to Strategic Partners and don’t forget that, as a Strategic Partner, you have access to other benefits such as discounts on relevant IATA Standards and Manuals for your specific area of involvement. New content has been added in Q1 2026 in the areas of Safety, IOSA and Cabin Operational Safety (Safety Manuals), as well as Fuel Efficiency and Technical Fuel (Flight & Technical Operations).

I very much look forward to continuing to build on our collaboration and look forward to seeing you at an upcoming IATA meeting or event!

Sincerely,

Sebastian Tirado
