About the course
5-day (40 hours) classroom course

IATA’s hands-on course, Aviation Security Train the Trainer, focuses on acquiring the knowledge, skills, techniques and procedures needed to develop and deliver effective instruction in a classroom setting. Whether you are new to training or a skilled trainer, this course will help you to identify and address your needs as an instructor by testing and developing your classroom capabilities. With the help of a wide range of performance objectives, you will be able to learn how to analyze, design and develop different training sessions and how to deliver sessions based on the use of advanced lesson plans and instructional aids. Improving your skills to evaluate and validate will add another significant step forward in this course. The week includes intensive knowledge-based material supported with skill-based practical experience by preparing and presenting three short lessons. Active learning techniques are spread throughout to elevate enrichment, fun and knowledge absorption. Since trainers manage time, resources and participants, the course also relates to managerial skills directly related to training. As a security instructor, being up-to-date with civil aviation's latest threats is vital. Develop teaching objectives specific to aviation security by reviewing past and current threats, assessing threat levels, and understanding the function of regulatory regimes in aviation security.
