Application requirements
To be eligible for the IATA AvMP designation, you must be employed at the time of application and meet the minimum education and work experience requirements below:

To meet the requirements for application for the AvMP designation, you must be a graduate of one of IATA diplomas* listed below and have 2 years’ work experience within the aviation industry. The registration fees can be found in the table below.

Maintain your designation
Your IATA AvMP designation remains valid for a period of three years. To renew your designation, you must demonstrate that you have furthered your professional development over the past 36 months by earning 50 “points” by:
- Continuing to work in the aviation industry – 10 points per year
- Keeping your skills current by completing IATA aviation courses (all IATA courses except Cargo and Travel Agency) – 10 points per course
- Participate in the advancement of the field as a trainer or guest speaker – 10 points per activity
- Attend an industry-related event – 5 points per event
- Being a member of an industry association – 5 points
The application for renewal of all applicants must be accompanied by the following supporting documents:
Mandatory
- Copy of your current IATA AvMP designation
- Curriculum vitae
- Reference letter(s) from your current and/or previous employer(s) detailing your job title, description, and duration of your appointment and supporting your work experience over the past 36 months
As applicable
- IATA certificates for the past 36 months
- Proof of participation as a trainer or guest speaker
- Proof of attendance at industry events*
- Proof of membership of an industry association*
* Receipts from the event committee/purchase, or "proof of attendance" letter
